Overview
Shiftmatch is a job search platform for nurses and caregivers looking for work in German hospitals. It manages CVs, diplomas, anonymization and deanonymization, hospital profiles, nurse profiles, and shift match tables.
The Problem
Healthcare hiring needed a structured way to match candidates and employers while keeping sensitive profile data private during early screening.
The Solution
I built the platform with Next.js, Payload CMS, PostgreSQL, Docker, and AWS, creating a workflow for anonymized candidate profiles, hospital listings, and structured shift matching.
Technologies Used
- Next.js
- Payload CMS
- PostgreSQL
- Docker
- AWS
Key Features
Candidate profiles
Store CVs, diplomas, skills, and work history for nurses and caregivers.
Hospital profiles
Present employer details, shift needs, and hiring requirements in one place.
Privacy workflow
Support anonymization and deanonymization for controlled candidate review.
Shift matching
Structured tables that help compare candidate availability against open shifts.
Architecture Overview
Shiftmatch combines Next.js and Payload CMS for the public and admin experience, PostgreSQL for persistent hiring data, and Docker plus AWS for repeatable deployment and hosting.
Development Challenges
Sensitive data handling
Profile visibility had to be carefully controlled so employers could review candidates without exposing everything too early.
Match structure
The matching tables needed to stay clear enough for recruiters while still representing real shift constraints.
